The company a city keeps.
A member community for the people who build, lead, and invest in Metro Detroit — a guide to the region's venues and firms (find a room by what you want, when you want), an independent calendar of every gathering worth attending, and a journal of the business news that moves the region. Held in common by its members.
Renaissance Center redevelopment secures up to $75M from the Detroit DDA.
Newlab at Michigan Central passes one hundred resident firms.
Art & Apples Festival returns to Rochester — September 11–13.
The region’s business news, in one place
Every weekday, the deals, developments, openings, and moves that matter across Metro Detroit — each summarized in the Exchange’s voice, credited, and linked. Drawn from Crain’s Detroit Business, DBusiness, the Free Press, Bridge Michigan, Eater Detroit, and two dozen more regional newsrooms.
What’s ahead
The DIX evenings the Exchange holds through the year, alongside the region’s business, culture, festivals, and entertainment gathered across all seventeen communities — so members never miss a room worth being in. A few of what’s coming up:
The region’s tables, at a glance
Find a room by what you want, when you want — every establishment graded I-1 to I-3 by dress code and cost, with estimated cost, menu, and how to reserve. Open the full guide to explore by community.
How relationships grow here
Relationships grow over shared experiences — so the Exchange is built as a set of steps, each one closer than the last. The four gatherings a year are where the room meets; In-the-Boardroom is where a dozen go deeper on the work; and a DIX Dinner — business or social, coordinated by a member — is where colleagues become friends.
The Gatherings
Four DIX evenings a year — the whole room in one place. Where you first shake a hand and put a face to a name. This is why the four meetings matter: everyone starts here.
In-the-Boardroom
An intimate lunch for up to twelve, hosted in a member’s boardroom around a topic they lead. Smaller table, real conversation — where an introduction becomes a working relationship.
A DIX Dinner
A table a member coordinates, business or social, with spouses and partners welcome. The most personal step — because the relationships that last are built over a shared table, not a business card.
Take a seat in the room.
A Member is in the room — full access to the directory, the invitations, and the standing to host an In-the-Boardroom lunch or coordinate a member dinner, for $250 a year. A Resource Partner is a firm in the room — everything a Member has, plus the standing to host and publish its own events, post news and PR, and be recognised at each core event, for $1,000 a year.
